Services for Mrs. Flora Irene Comerford Lowe, 89, of Bainbridge, were held Sunday, Jan. 22, 2012, at the First Church of the Nazarene with Rev. David Grubbs and Rev. Charles Taylor officiating. Interment was in Oak City Cemetery with her nephews serving as pallbearers.
Mrs. Lowe was born Oct. 24, 1922, in Blountstown, Fla., to James Edward Comerford and Cora Thompson Comerford, and she died Friday, Jan. 20, 2012, at her daughter’s home in Cairo, Ga. She was married to Dick Lowe, who preceded her in death.
She lived most of her life in Bainbridge and worked as a meat cutter for many years at Nicholson’s IGA in Bainbridge. After retirement she worked at B&H Country Market in Cairo. She was a charter member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Bainbridge.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and nine siblings.
Flora Irene Lowe is survived by her daughter, Wanda Bearden of Cairo; grandchildren, Amy Hill and husband Jason of Cairo, Brian Smith and wife Karen of Gallatin, Tenn. and Joni Quinlan and husband Brian of Gainesville, Ga.; and five great-grandchildren.
Cox-Ware Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
