Mr. and Mrs. Timothy Green of Bainbridge announce the engagement of their daughter, Katie Jo Green, to James Frank Dixon Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. James Frank Dixon Sr. of Camilla, Ga.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Eloise Brock of Bainbridge and of the late Rufus Brock, and Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Green.

Miss Green graduated from Bainbridge High School in 2006 as salutatorian of her class. She graduated magna cum laude in 2011 from the University of Georgia with a Bachelor of Science in Education. She was a member of Kappa Delta sorority and was the sweetheart of Kappa Sigma fraternity. She is employed as a second-grade teacher at Harper Elementary School in Thomasville, Ga.

The groom-to-be is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Ray Eugene Dixon Sr. of Camilla, Mr. James Ralph Nix of West Point, Ga. and the late Ludie Irvin Dixon and Dorothy Davidson Nix.

Mr. Dixon graduated from Westwood School in 2006 and from the University of Georgia in 2010, where he obtained a degree in business management, with a minor in agricultural business. He is affiliated with Kappa Sigma fraternity and with the Rotary club. He is employed as inventory manager at Quality Home Rentals Inc.

The wedding is planned for March 31 at 6:30 p.m. at Rosemott Vineyard at Gin Creek, where the reception will follow. Invitations will be sent.
