David and Julie Warr of Bainbridge announce the engagement of their daughter, Melissa Warr, to Justin Artz, son of Janice Hendrixson of Bainbridge and the late Rene Artz.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Bettie and Herbert Prestridge and Robert and Mary Warr, all of Brewton, Ala. She holds a master’s degree from Valdosta State University and is employed as a teacher of the deaf and hard-of-hearing in the Thomasville City Schools.

The groom-to-be is the grandson of the late Jo Ann Shappard, maternal grandmother, and of Constant Artz, paternal grandparent, all of whom are deceased.

He attended Georgia Southern University and is employed as a wireless consultant for Alltel in Albany.

The wedding is planned for March 10 at 2 p.m. at Gretna Baptist Church, with the reception following at the church.
