Services for Jefferson Coleman “Jeff” Voyles, 64, of Cairo, Ga., will be held at 2 p.m., on Wednesday, Jan. 4, 2012, at Eastside Baptist Church, Cairo, with Rev. Paul Voyles and Rev. Jimmy Voyles officiating. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Cairo. Active pallbearers will be members of the Cairo Fire Department. Honorary pallbearers will be members of “his second family.”
Mr. Voyles was born on Feb. 24, 1947, in Cairo, to the late Frank Harrison Voyles and Mary Louise Taylor Voyles. He passed away on Sunday, Jan. 1, 2012, at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Atlanta. He was a fireman with the City of Cairo, and a member of Eastside Baptist Church.
Mr. Voyles was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Mike Voyles.
Survivors include daughters and son-in-law, Deborah and Kenneth Lashley of Cairo, Shanda Brinson of Cairo, Casey Fowler of Thomasville, Ga.; brothers, Jimmy Voyles (Jacqueline) of Norman Park, Ga., Thomas D. Voyles (Sadie) of Cairo, Paul Voyles (Carolyn) of Moultrie, Ga.; a sister, Cornelia Rackley of Cairo; grandchildren, Jared Moore (Christy), Jamie Moore, Charlie Collett, Kadi Lashley, Ty Lashley, all of Cairo; and a special grand “Baby,” Vela Voyles of Thomasville.
