Samaritan Counseling Center receives $5K grant

The Samaritan Counseling Center of Southwest Georgia was recently awarded a $5,000 grant from the Mary Allen Lindsey Branan Foundation.
This grant will go towards subsidizing counseling fees, helping the Samaritan Counseling Center to continue offering help and hope to the hurting in the community, regardless of financial situation. Each year the Samaritan Counseling Center covers nearly $25,000 subsidizing fees for counseling services.
Through the generosity of community donors, local charitable organizations, and organizations like the Mary Allen Lindsey Branan Foundation, individuals and families who are not able to afford professional counseling services can receive the help they need at Samaritan Counseling Center. The Mary Allen Lindsey Branan Foundation distributes grants to organizations that work to benefit those in need of care in times of suffering or sickness; it was created under the will of Charles I. Branan in 1929 and named in honor of his mother.
Since officially opening in May 2007, the Samaritan Counseling Center has offered professional counseling for a wide range of issues, including marriage counseling, grief, depression, anxiety, ADHD, abuse, and parenting. Samaritan Counseling Center has provided community education programs to local churches, business, and organizations covering a wide range of topics, such as parenting, grief, stress, and communication.
