Jimmy and Nancy Shudy Dreher of Star City, Ark., announce the engagement of their daughter, Ashley Elizabeth Dreher, to Thomas Drew Gardner, son of Windell J. and Brenda Culverson Gardner of Bainbridge.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Morris “Jit” and JoAnne Dreher of Grady, Ark., and the late Betty and Henry Shudy of Green Forest, Ark.

Miss Dreher is a 2007 graduate of Star City High School and graduated from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock with a major in health science. She is employed as a fifth-grade science teacher at Dalhart Intermediate School in Dalhart, Texas. She is pursuing a Master of Arts degree in teaching from West Texas A&M University in Canyon, Texas.

The groom-to-be is the grandson of Louise Culverson Vanlandingham and the late Rev. Calvin Thomas Culverson of Bainbridge, Betty Leverette Gardner and the late Vern Sam Gardner of Bainbridge.

He graduated in 2008 from Star City High School in Arkansas and is the owner and operator of Bayou Plantation in Dalhart, Texas.

The wedding is planned for March 10 at 5:30 p.m. at the Pratt Place Barn in Fayetteville, Ark., and the reception will follow at the same location. Invitations will be sent.
