Practical nursing students earn pins at BC

Bainbridge College Practical Nursing (PN) students from the main campus and the BC Early County Center received pins Dec. 8, in a traditional ceremony at the Charles H. Kirbo Regional Center on the Bainbridge campus.

Honorees are listed alphabetically by their cities: Atoria Anderson, Erika Clark, Sandra Corley, Shantell Daniels, Stephanie Dudley, Robin Lemery, Irene Lively, Chakeshia Mitchell, Evanjelita Alaniz Sarmiento, Amanda Snow, Bridgett Wade and Kia Williams, all of Bainbridge; Titesha R. Brown of Blakely, Ga.; Nichole Brown, Courtney Pearson, Chiquita Simmons, Pamela Walker and Whitney D. Williams, all of Cairo, Ga.; Shakita Jordan of Cuthbert, Ga.; Naokee Bush and Candace Rambo, both of Donalsonville, Ga.

LPN Club President Erika Clark gave the invocation. Bridgett Wade gave the student welcome. Shakita Jordan led the recitation of the Nightingale Pledge.

Dr. Adria Belk, who is chair of the Technical Studies Division and interim chair of the Health Sciences Division, welcomed the audience of 300 and presented the graduates for pinning.

Interim PN Program Director Lorie Barrow of Whigham, Ga., presented LPN Club Awards to the following students. Erika Clark received the awards for Academic Excellence and for Most Supportive, and earned the Teamwork Award along with Bridgett Wade, who also received the Leadership Award; Atoria Anderson received the Rosebud Award.

These PN faculty members also assisted with the pinning program: Pat Browers, Andrea Ferguson, Wanda Green, Gena Peterson, Heather Smith, Annie Welch, and Nita Widener. BC Faculty member Mary Glenn Grimes made a special presentation to the graduates, and Angela Knight of Whigham played the piano for the procession.
