A memorial service for John Arthur “Bo” Dawson will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 10, at Mount Moriah #2 Baptist Church, Wautauga Road, Attapulgus, with Rev. John Thomas officiating.

Mr. Dawson was born Jan. 22, 1950, to the late Allie Mae Hall and John Henry Dawson in Hilton, Ga. He died Tuesday, Nov. 30, 2011. He graduated from Attapulgus Mt. Moriah High School, Class of 1968, and attended Bainbridge College. He retired from Seaboard Coastline Railroad after 20 years of service. An avid outdoorsman, Bo spent much time farming produce, fishing, hunting, and traveling country roads. A loving and devoted father, brother, uncle, brother-in-law and friend, John will always be remembered for his love of family and desire to help others in need.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, William P. Mosley and Fulton Bailey.

Survivors include his daughter, Allison Claire Dawson of Albany, Ga.; his son, John Arthur Dawson II of Tallahassee, Fla.; sisters, Annie L. Harris of Bainbridge and Rosa (Nate) Gurley of Blakely, Ga.; brothers, Henry J. Dawson of Greensboro, N.C. and Jimmy (Maria) Dawson of Orlando, Fla.; sisters-in-law, Anna L. Mosely and Vera Bailey; and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
