At the Bainbridge Christmas Parade on Thursday, December 8, those in attendance will see a familiar face at the front of the parade line.  Mrs. Mary Barber Cox will be serving as Grand Marshal of the parade.

Perhaps most well known for her beautiful art work, Cox has given of herself and her talents to promote and support the City of Bainbridge for many years.

Beginning in December 1991 the Downtown Development Authority began the tradition of promoting Bainbridge by selling a Christmas tree ornament featuring Cox’s artwork.  The first ornament depicted the beautiful gazebo in Willis Park.  It was such a resounding success that they decided to make a tradition and have had ornaments available for each year, each depicting a different historic buildings or a place.   In addition to her beautiful ornament, it has become a tradition for Cox to present at the annual Holiday Open House celebration to sign and personalize each ornament for citizens, friends and family. She is certainly deserving of this honor.

Don’t miss the Bainbridge Christmas Parade at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, December 8.
