The funeral service for Eula R. Birdsong, 94, of Bainbridge will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 8, 2011, at Eldorendo Baptist Church with Rev. Thomas P. Long officiating. Interment will follow at Eldorendo Baptist Church Cemetery with her grandsons serving as active pallbearers.

The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 7, 2011, at Ivey Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Eldorendo Baptist Church, P. O. Box 7095, Bainbridge, GA 39818.

Mrs. Birdsong was born Oct. 19, 1917, in Danville, Ala., the daughter of Eugene Roper and Annie Mae Johnson Roper. She died Sunday, Dec. 4, 2011, at Memorial Manor Nursing Home. She was a graduate of Danville High School and attended the University of Alabama. Mrs. Birdsong was a homemaker and member of Eldorendo Baptist Church.

Mrs. Birdsong was preceded in death by her husband, John Henry Birdsong; her sons, David Eugene Birdsong and Don Birdsong; and her daughter, Deloris Tilton.

Survivors include her sons, John H. Birdsong Jr. of Baconton, Ga., William H. “Billy” Birdsong and his wife, Lynn, of Bainbridge, and Vic Birdsong of Shellman, Ga.; her daughters, Myralynn Tutwiler of Sunrise, Fla., Janice Young and her husband, Grant, of Tulsa, Okla., and Elaine Denham and her husband, Ed, of Thomaston, Ga.; her sisters, Nila D’Aniello of Port Charlotte, Fla. and Imogene Baker of DeFuniak Springs, Fla.; her 15 grandchildren; and her 33 great-grandchildren.
