We regret to announce the passing of Mr. Charles Raymond Whitaker, age 55, of Bainbridge, who passed away Tuesday, November 22, 2011 at Wedowee (Ala.) Hospital.
Funeral services for Mr. Whitaker will be held on Friday, November 25, at 3 p.m. in the Chapel of Evans-Skipper Funeral Home in Donalsonville with Dr. Johnny Roberts officiating. Burial will follow at Friendship Cemetery in Donalsonville, Ga. Visitation will be held Friday, November 25 from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. at Evans-Skipper Funeral Home.
Mr. Whitaker was born in Donalsonville, Ga., on February 5, 1956 to Ruby Jewel Smith Whitaker and the late James Otis Whitaker. He graduated from Seminole County High School in 1974 and worked in management at Amoco Fabrics in Bainbridge for 32 years. At the time of his passing, he was employed with Mohawk Industries.
He is survived by his wife, Kaye Sandlin Whittaker of Bainbridge; his mother Ruby Jewel S. Whitaker of Donalsonville; one daughter, Meghan Whitaker of Augusta, Ga.; three brothers, James Whitaker and his wife Alice; Philip Whitaker and his wife Darlene, all of Donalsonville, and Harry Whittaker and his wife Linda of Fairburn, Ga,; two sisters, Frances North and her husband Buddy and Becky Breckenridge all of Donalsonville; his father and mother-in-law, Ferris Sandlin and his wife June of Brinson. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, James Otis Whitaker.
Evans-Skipper Funeral Home in Donalsonville is in charge of the arrangements.
