Most government offices will be closed Thanksgiving

All local, state and federal offices will be closed on Thursday, Nov. 24, to observe the Thanksgiving Holiday.

All non-emergency City of Bainbridge and Decatur County government offices will be closed on both Thursday and Friday.

No classes will be held at Bainbridge College on Thursday and Friday, and college offices will also be closed.

The Southwest Georgia Library System, including the Decatur County-Gilbert H. Gragg Library, will be closed Thanksgiving Day. All library locations will re-open for regular business hours on Friday. The library’s Web site, www.swgrl.org, has a variety of resources available 24 hours a day, including checkout of e-books and audiobooks.

Georgia Department of Driver Services offices, including those in Colquitt and Thomasville, will be closed on Thursday and Friday. The Colquitt office will not re-open until Thursday of the following week. The Thomasville office will re-open on Tuesday of the following week.

The U.S. Postal Service will not deliver mail on Thursday but will resume on Friday. Some private companies’ package delivery services may not be available on the day after Thanksgiving.
