Services for Mr. Willie Jack King were held Saturday, Nov. 5, 2011, at Nelson Chapel A.M.E. Church in Bainbridge, where Rev. James Platt is pastor and Rev. Dennis Brinson was eulogist. Interment was in Pineview Cemetery in Bainbridge, and pallbearers were Khadafy Boggan, James Brown, Douglass Jacobson and Kenneth Jeffery.
Mr. King was the son of the late Mr. Plez and Mrs. Elizabeth McGriff King, and was born Dec. 29, 1919, in Grady County, Ga. He accepted the Lord Jesus Christ at a very young age and joined Nelson Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Church in Bainbridge, where he served faithfully as a trustee for many years.
Willie Jack enlisted in the U.S. Army and was a World War II veteran. Later in his adult life, he met and married the late Mrs. Georgia Lou Nevels. Mr. King departed this life on Monday, Oct. 31, 2011, at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Jimmy King and Jesse King.
Willie Jack leaves cherished memories to his loving daughter, Kesha King Brinson (Dennis); two granddaughters, Elizabeth and Jamya Brinson; a sister, Daisy Conyers of Compton, Calif.; and a host of nephews, nieces, other relatives, and friends.
Guyton Brothers Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
