The graveside memorial service for Joseph R. Rehberg, 84, of Climax, was held Wednesday, Nov. 9, 2011, at Cedar Grove Cemetery with Rev. Tegler Greer and Mr. Vern Ellis officiating.

Mr. Rehberg passed away Sunday, Nov. 6, 2011, at Select Specialty Hospital in Tallahassee, Fla.

Mr. Rehberg was born Aug. 4, 1927, in Ochlocknee, Ga., the son of Joseph Riley Rehberg and Nancy Ella Griffin Rehberg. After graduating from Ochlocknee High School, he served in the U.S. Navy and then attended Florida State University. Mr. and Mrs. Rehberg were owners and operators of commercial and vacation rentals in Mexico Beach, Fla., until their retirement and move to Climax in 1995. Mr. Rehberg was a member of the Mexico Beach Chamber of Commerce and the Mexico Beach United Methodist Church, and, following his retirement, the Climax United Methodist Church in Climax.

Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Reba Hester Rehberg of Climax; his two sisters, Anne Laura Holsenbeck of Jacksonville, Fla. and Jaunita Rehberg Pyles of Whigham, Ga.; and several nieces and nephews.

Ivey Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
