Lady Cats Kristen Bennett named All-Region 1-AAAA

Bainbridge High School senior catcher Kristen Bennett has been named to the All-Region 1-AAAA second team, by the region’s softball coaches.

Bennett, who batted .406 for coach Eugene Singletary’s Lady Cats and had a .465 on-base percentage, had 26 hits in 71 plate appearances, Her hits included 19 singles, six doubles and one home run.

She had 27 RBIs and was 15-of-28 with runners in scoring position. She also drew seven walks and struck out just four times.

Joining Bennett as a second-team catcher was Kilandra Dollar of Warner Robins.

Pitcher of the year was Jessica Burroughs of Houston County, offensive player of the year was Amber Locey of Hardaway and the defensive player of the year was Natalie Shiver of Lee County.

Shiver and Kelly Warner of Houston County were first-team catchers, and Burroughs and Haley Elver of  Northside-Columbus were first-team pitchers.

First-team infielders were Jenna Reeves of Thomas County Central, Taylor Campbell of Northside-Warner Robins, Carson Carriker of Houston County, Brandi Blount of Lee County and Jessica Hart of Northside-Columbus.

First-team outfielders were Carlie Farmer of Houston County, Savannah Morris of Thomas County Central and Aalyah Jones of Warner Robins.

Second team infielders were Hailey Scott of Lee County, Moriah Cadenhead of Houston County and Kate Corbin of Thomas County Central. Dana Frazier of Houston County is a second-team outfielder.
