• Disciples of Jesus Ministries — The church, located at 1630 Bethel Road, will have a Thanksgiving musical on Saturday, Nov. 5, at 7 p.m. • New Home Free Will Baptist Church — The church, located near Vada will have the annual Old Fashion Day on Sunday, Nov. 6, with preaching beginning at 11 a.m., followed by dinner. The Willing Servants begin singing at 1:30 p.m. • Lifestream Church — The church, located at 1301 S. West St., will begin a bible study beginning Wednesday, Nov. 2, each Wednesday through Dec. 14 (with Nov. 23 off for Thanksgiving). The study will be based on the book Not a Fan, by Kyle Idleman, a Louisville, Ky. pastor. From Nov. 10 through Nov. 12, the services will begin at 7:30 p.m. They will begin at 3 p.m. on Nov. 13. Bishop J.E. Hamilton is pastor. • God’s Temple of Holy Praise — The church, located at 106 Griffin St., will observe the fourth year pastoral anniversary of Pastor Ervin Flanders and Prophetess Viola Flanders on Nov. 10, 11 and 13. Scheduled guest speakers are: Thursday at 7 p.m. Bishop Walter Daniels of Loving Kindness Outreach Ministry, Colquitt; Friday at 7 p.m. Bishop Willie Lamb Sr. of The Lamb’s Temple of God; and Sunday at 2 p.m. Overseer Bobby Daniels of Decatur County Holiness. • Salem M.B. Church — The church, located at 451 Old Faceville Highway, will have its 2nd Annual Harvest Bazaar on Saturday, Nov. 12, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Booth rentals available. Steve Derby, speaking at the morning worship service. Lunch will be served following the service, followed by special singing. • Second St. James M.B. Church — The church, located at 1912 S. Potter St., will have a program on Nov. 13 at 3 p.m. in honor of Rev. Edmond and his wife Daisy Howard for their commitment and dedication to their church. Guest speaker will be Rev. Cleveland Sanders. The church senior choir will observe Harvey’s Day on Nov. 20 at 11 a.m. with music by the Mt. Nebo Church Choir. • Southwest Baptist Church — The church, located at 1101 Faceville Highway, will present a Thanksgiving Drama on Nov. 20 at 6 p.m., entitled “I Can Only Imagine.” • St. Paul M.B. Church — The church, located on Highway 27 North, will celebrate its 100th anniversary nightly at 7:30 on Nov. 23, 25 and 27, beginning at 10:30 a.m. on Sunday. Pastor Levi Kelly has 36 years of service to the community. • Disciples of Jesus Ministries — The church, located at 1630 Bethel Road, will have a Unity in the Community Thanksgiving Feast from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 24, offering free dinners for the community and activities for the children. • Mt. Nebo M.B. Church — The church, located on Lake Douglas Road, will have a special Thanksgiving service on Nov. 24 at noon, with Rev. Eric Gordon of Lawrenceville, Ga. as guest speaker. Dinner will be served. • Bethlehem Freewill Baptist Church — The church, located at 1810 S. West St., will have a Harvest Rally Old Fashion Day on Nov. 27 at 11:15 a.m. On this day the congregation dresses in old-time overalls and bonnets. Dinner will be served.
