Not busy Saturday? Help clean up our river!

Anyone who’s free this Saturday morning is welcome to come by the Earle May Boat Basin and participate in the annual “Rivers Alive” clean-up day.
The Flint River is a beautiful part of our community and we should all pitch in to help keep it clean and pristine. This Saturday, at 8 a.m., volunteers will meet at the boat basin before splitting out to help clean up different portions of the river and its shore.
Many groups, including schools, churches, and service clubs, have already agreed to show up, but all volunteers are welcome. It only takes a few hours of your time, and it can make a tremendous difference. Last year, the Rivers Alive clean-up crew collected several tons of trash.
There is still time to sign up to volunteer. For more information, call (229) 246-3611 or email bdckab@surfsouth.com
