Santerica Thomas named BMS homecoming queen

Eighth-grader Santerica Thomas, the daughter of Terry and Gloria Thomas, is the 2011 Bainbridge Middle School homecoming queen.

Thomas is a varsity cheerleader, and a member of the National Junior Honor Society, the band, the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, the Future Farmers of America and Talent Search of Georgia.

Representing the diamond team, she was crowned by principal Dr. Marvin Thomas and assisted by 2010 Bainbridge Middle School homecoming queen Tamera Levens, who is a freshman at Bainbridge High School, during haltime of the Bainbridge Middle School homecoming football game between the Bearcats and the Thomas County Central Middle School eighth-grade Yellow Jackets. She was escorted by her father, Terry Thomas.

The first runner-up was Alexis Gaines, the daughter of Verita Gaines and Thomas J. Jeanty, who represented the onyx team. She was escorted by her uncle Ray Gaines.

She is an eighth-grade member of the National Junior Honor Society, the chorus and the cheerleading squad. She also plays basketball and soccer.

The second runner-up was eighth-grader Tiffany Regan, the daughter of Carrie Pollock representing the emerald team. Her hobby is swimming and she was escorted by her stepfather David Pollock.

Other eighth-grade attendants included Frenesha Reddick, the daughter of Sonja Martin and Frendelro Reddick representing the emerald team; Maria Mendoza, the granddaughter of Mike and Angie Rodriguez, representing the onyx team; and Sabryna Dean, the daughter of Humberto and Shana Dean, representing the diamond team.

Seventh-grade attendants included Hannah Kay Holt, the daughter of Hank and Cathy Holt, representing the sapphire team; Carah Jones, the daughter of Bo and Ginger Jones, representing the topaz team; and Sharmaura Chukes, the daughter of Cynthia Chukes, representing the sapphire team.

Other seventh grade attendants were Melanie Bush, the daughter of Reginald and Brenda Bush, representing the garnet team; Kimberly Grimsley, the daughter of Christine Grimsley, representing the garnet team; Ellie Jeter, the daughter of Greg and Kim Jeter, representing the pearl team; and Kim Johnson, the daughter of Thelma Johnson, representing the topaz team.
