Services for Mrs. Eunice M. Corker, 94, of Whigham, Ga., were held Sept. 22, 2011, at Mt. Moriah No. 1 M.B. Church in Climax with Rev. Douglas Barber officiating. Interment was in Conyers Cemetery with friends of the family acting as pallbearers.
Mrs. Corker was born Sept. 16, 1916, in the Bell District of Decatur County. She died Sept. 13, 2011, at her home. She worked along side her husband on the farm, and was a talented and creative clothes designer, and an excellent cook. She also helped her husband build, with their own hands, two of the homes they owned. The first was built from trees that grew on the land they purchased in the 1940s.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Preston and Nancy McNair; and her husband, Johnny Corker.
Survivors include sons, John Ira Corker and James Edward Corker Sr.; daughters, Lille Gurley, Annie Doris Youmans, Annie Ray Barber and Evelyn Spradley of Tallahassee, Fla.; 25 grandchildren and 63 great-grandchildren.
Bruton Mortuary was in charge of the arrangements.
