Graveside funeral services for Ellen Whittle May, 76, of Bainbridge, will be Tuesday, Sept. 20 at 10:30 a.m. at Pelham City Cemetery with Rev. Britt Priddy officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the services at the graveside.

Born May 12, 1935 in Mitchell County, Georgia, Mrs. May was the daughter of the late Luther Whittle and Josephine Davis Whittle. She died Saturday, September 17, 2011 at Grand Blvd. Health and Rehabilitation Center in Destin, Fla.

She was married to the late C.W. “Bo” May. Together with her husband, Bo, and her daughter Maryann, Mrs. May resided for over 25 years in Vidalia, Ga., then retired to Ft. Gaines, Ga. at Gopher Ridge Fishing Camp, where she and her daughter Maryann enjoyed many happy years with their friends.

Mrs. May is preceded in death by her sister, Lynda Whittle Cole, who died in July of this year.

Survivors include her daughter Maryann May; a son, Sonny Redmond and wife Elke; a brother Wendell Whittle and wife Dianne of Pensacola, Fla.; three granddaughters, Deann Redmond Garcia and husband Morgan, Piper Redmond, Lauren Redmond; a grandson, Dean Redmond; nieces and nephews, Mike Whittle, Jeffrey Hughes and Kim Barlow.

Parker-Bramlett Funeral Home of Camilla, Ga., is in charge of the arrangements.
