• Oak Grove M.B. Church—The church, located at 138 Philyaw Road in Fowlstown, will host the Third Annual Women Conference this Saturday, Sept. 17, from 8 a.m. to noon. • Christ Tabernacle of the Living Word—The Missionaries and Mothers Auxiliaries of the church, located at 1701 Bethel Road, are sponsoring a free clothing give-away with free refreshments on Saturday, Sept. 17, beginning at 1 p.m.
• Union M.B. Church—The church, located at 703 Martin St., will observe Men and Women’s Day on Sunday, Sept. 18, at 11 a.m. with Rev. Ralph Harris as guest speaker.
• Magnolia M.B. Church—The church, located at 1210 Center St., will conclude the celebration for Pastor Belinda Wright-Corley’s annual anniversary on Sept. 18 at 11 a.m. and 3 p.m.
• Mt. Zuma M.B. Church—The church, located at 2015 Vada Highway, will conclude the church and pastor anniversary that began Wednesday. Services Sunday morning, Sept. 18 are at 11:30 a.m. with Rev. Douglas Barber of Mt. Moriah Church. Sunday evening services begin at 2 p.m. with Rev. A.L. Thompson from First Baptist Church on Webster St.
• Pilgrim Rest M.B. Church—The church, located at 849 Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, will be the site of the Willing Workers Anniversary on Sunday, Sept. 18, at 3 p.m. Rev. Eric Collins of Greater Macedonia Church will be the featured speaker.
• Morningside Baptist Church—The church, located 1303 Vada Road, will commence the Fall Revival on Sunday, Sept. 18, at 11 a.m. morning worship. Sunday evening service is at 7 p.m. On Tuesday and Wednesday the revival will begin at 7 p.m. Guest speaker will be Lee Lacey, Pastor of First Baptist Church in Sandersville, Ga. • St. John A.M.E. Church—The church, located at 416 E. Broad St., in Climax, will observe the 145th church anniversary on Sunday, Sept. 18 at 11 a.m. Rev. Flavius J. Johnson of Bethel A.M.E. Church in Attapulgus will be guest speaker.
• New Salem Freewill Baptist Church—The church, located at 2574 Spring Creek Road, will celebrate the annual appreciation program for Associate Pastor Andrews on Sunday, Sept. 18 at 2 p.m. Elder Ruben Addison Sr. will bring the word and music is by the Friendship House of Prayer of Cairo.
• New Home Freewill Baptist Church—The church, located at New Home Church Road, Vada, will host a special service with their guests, nationally-known gospel singing ventriloquist team, David & Rusty, on Sunday, Sept. 18, at 6 p.m. David & Rusty travel full-time from Florida to California. They have brought a lot of laughter and joy to audiences across America through their personal apperances, and on television, with their Christian humor and Southern gospel style singing.
• Climax Baptist Church—The church, located at 204 W. Lee St., Climax, on Sunday, Sept. 18, at 6 p.m., will host the Lighthouse Children’s Home from Tallahassee, Fla., in concert in a special service in memory of Windell Hall. A covered dish supper will follow the event.
• Southwest Baptist Church—The church, located at 1101 Faceville Highway, holds a Senior Luncheon, featuring a meal and program every third Monday of the month at noon. In September the date falls on the 19th.
• St. Thomas M.B. Church—The church, located at 198 Edwards Road in Fowlstown, will celebrate its 129th church anniversary soon. Services will be Wed., Sept. 21, through Friday, Sept. 23, at 7 p.m. each night. The anniversary celebration will conclude with a service Sunday, Sept. 25, at 2 p.m.
• LifeStream Church—The church, located at 1301 S. West St., will host a four-week parenting class on Wednesday nights, beginning Sept. 21, and running through Oct. 12. Classes are free and begin at 7 p.m., dismissing no later than 8:30 p.m. Chris Beam of the Samaritan House will lead three of the sessions, with the last being taught by Pastor Ken Sellars. • Disciples of Jesus Ministries—The church, located at 1630 Bethel Road, will host a revival Sept. 23 and 24 at 7 p.m. nightly. Featured speaker will be Apostle Larry Bardge of McDonough, Ga.
• Kingdom Harvest Fellowship—Located at 652 Wautauga Road, Attapulgus, will host the spiritual warfare conference 2011 beginning Friday, Sept. 23 with Apostle James Wooten of Spirit Filled International, Colquitt, as speaker at 7:30 p.m. On Saturday, Sept. 24 beginning at 9 a.m, featured speakers will be Pastor Ray Copeland, of Quitman; Prophetess Carolyn Washington of Perry Fla. and Prophetess Angela Hindsman of Cairo.
• Bethel M.B. Church—The church, located at 400 N. Martin Luther King Jr. Road, Colquitt, will host a Spiritual Soul Singers Reunion on Sept. 24 at 6 p.m. Dinner will be served after the service. • Bethlehem Freewill Baptist Church—The church, located at 1810 S. West Street, will observe the Usher Anniversary on Sept. 25 at 11:15 a.m.
• Bethel A.M.E. Church—The church, located at 207 N. Griffin Ave. in Attapulgus, will observe a Family and Friends Day celebration on Sunday, Sept. 25, at 3 p.m. Dr. Larry Brown, Pastor of Springfield A.M.E. Church in Gretna, Fla. will be the guest speaker, on the theme of “Shew Yourself Friendly.”
• Calvary Baptist Church—The church, located at 601 Chason St., will host a weekend of fun, food and fellowship for ladies Oct. 14-15, beginning at 6 p.m. on Friday and at 9 a.m. on Saturday. Guest author, humorist and speaker Shellie Rushing Tomlinson, will speak. She is the author of Suck Your Stomach in and Put Some Color On and of Sue Ellen’s Girl Ain’t Fat, She Just Weighs Heavy.
