The Georgia Department of Labor’s Bainbridge Career Center, along with several other local organizations, will sponsor a career and resource expo for employers, veterans, and other job seekers Thursday, Sept. 22. It will be held from noon to 3 p.m. at the Charles H. Kirbo Regional Center, located at 2500 E. Shotwell St. in Bainbridge.
Other sponsors include Bainbridge College’s Technical Studies Division, the Bainbridge/Decatur County Chamber of Commerce, and the Southwest Georgia Employer Committee. Employer committees are groups of local business representatives who establish and maintain working relationships between employers and GDOL career centers.
The career and resource expo will feature a number of employers, educational institutions, and resource agencies that provide assistance to job seekers. Some employers will be hiring, while others will be discussing possible future employment opportunities. Local veteran employment representatives will also be available to assist veterans with individual job search and career assistance. Applicants should bring multiple copies of their resumés and be prepared to fill out company applications and interview for available jobs.
Employers, educational institutions, and resource agencies expected to participate in the event include: Ambassador Personnel, Bainbridge Memorial Hospital and Manor, Bainbridge Treatment Center, Decatur County Sheriff’s Office, Miller County Hospital, New Hire Solutions, Ponder Enterprises, Providence Community Corrections, ResCare Home Care, Southwest Georgia Workforce Investment Board (WIB), Southwestern State Hospital, Spring Creek Health Cooperative, U.S. Air Force, U.S. Army, Vescom Corporation and Wiregrass Hospice.
