Services for Elijah Lee, 78, of Bainbridge, were held Sept. 6, 2011 at Swanwall M.B. Church of Brinson with Rev. Percy Leggett officiating. Interment was in Jonas Lobe Cemetery, with brothers and nephews acting as pallbearers and the Deacons and trustees of Swanwall Church as honorary pallbearers.

Mr. Lee was born Aug. 29, 1937 in Brinson, Ga., and died Aug. 27, 2011 at Bainbridge Health Care. He was retired from Georgia State Hospital.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard Lee and Mamie B. Davis; and his wife Betty Jackson Lee.

Survivors include his sisters, Mary Ward of Jacksonville, Fla. and Margaret Jackson of Tallahassee; brothers, Joe L. Davis Jr. of Detroit, Mich., and Rev. Edmond Howard Jr. of Bainbridge; daughters Lorella Frazier, Johnnie M. Griffin and Carol Bouie.

Bruton Mortuary was in charge of the arrangements.
