The Syrupmaids scored two in the fourth to cut the lead to 5-2, but the Lady Cats came back with five in the fifth to put the game away.

Pitcher Brooke Bates got aboard on an error to start the fifth inning. She promptly stole second, moved over to third on a passed ball and came home when Shea Williams hit a double. Williams later came home with the second run of the inning on a passed ball.

Megan Vaughn wrapped up the scoring with a three-run home run. Brittany Moore, who singled, and Summer Kirkland, who was hit by a pitch, were aboard when she connected.

The big scoring inning for the Lady Cats, in their Thursday victory over the junior varsity Lady Yellow Jackets, was the third when they rallied for eight runs.

Key blows in the inning were two-run singles by Jordan Graham and Brooke Bates, and a two-run triple by Shea Williams.
