Funeral services for Leon Collin Grimsley, 62, of Bainbridge, were held Sunday, Aug. 14, 2011, at Union M.B. Church in West Bainbridge, with the Rev. David Johnson officiating.
Interment followed at Jonas Lobe Cemetery with Troy Austin, Clyde Baulkman, Dewayne Grimsley, Jason Grimsley, Kenneth Grimsley, Demarco Murphy, Demetrius Parris and Nikita Porter acting as pallbearers.
Mr. Grimsley was born Oct. 2, 1948, in Colquitt to the late J.C. and Virginia Jackson Grimsley. He died Aug. 9, 2011, in Forsyth, Ga.
He had been employed at Keiser Chemicals and Bainbridge Mills.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers.
Survivors include his wife, the former Shelia Baulkman; seven children, Michael Grimsley of Tallahassee, Fla., Pamela Grimsley of Bainbridge, Donald Grimsley of Attapulgus, Jamie Grimsley of Birmingham, Ala., Travis Grimsley of Bainbridge, Leon Grimsley Jr. of Orlando, Fla., and Shunta G. Vaughn of Tallahassee, Fla.; seven brothers, Jimmy Grimsley, Leroy Grimsley, both of Orlando, Fla., Roy McMillan and Wilbur McMillan Sr., both of Hannatown, Ga., John McMillan of Mt. Pleasant, Fla., Hershel McMillan of Gretna, Fla., and Elarge McMillan of Ft. Pierce, Fla.; five sisters, Enzie Richardson of Orlando, Fla., Adell Gray of Ft. Myers, Fla., Juanita Mims of Moreno Valley, Calif., Patricia Langford of Cairo, Ga., and Myra F. Mackey of Bainbridge; seven grandchildren, and one great-grandchild, as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
Bruton Mortuary was in charge of the arrangements.
