Barbara Williford, mother of the late Ebony Clarke—who was an innocent victim of gang violence in 2008—was recognized by the Bainbridge City Council Tuesday night for her efforts to improve the community. For the past three years, Williford has organized an annual march and rally with two purposes—to honor the memory of her daughter and also to spread awareness of how drugs and gang activity negatively impact the city. Mayor Edward Reynolds presented Williford with a plaque bearing the city’s thanks for making a difference.
