The funeral service for Alma L. Hartzog, 85, of Brinson, Ga., will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, July 7, at Ivey Funeral Home Chapel.
Interment will follow at Corinth Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery in Iron City with Joe Hartzog, Garrett Hartzog, Trey Hawkins, Michael Conley, Tony Cox and Cliff McNeal serving as active pallbearers.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, July 6, at Ivey Funeral Home.
Mrs. Hartzog was born Dec. 7, 1925, in Donalsonville, the daughter of Reuben Franklin Smith and Lina Hinson Smith. She died Tuesday, July 5, 2011, at Memorial Hospital.
She was a retired inspector for ITT Electrical and a member of Attapulgus Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter H. Hartzog; her son, Alvin T. Hartzog; and her daughter, Sandra H. Beasley.
Survivors include her sons, Chuck Hartzog and his wife, Dorothy Jean, of Brinson, and Freddie Hartzog and his wife, Susie, of Bainbridge; her daughters, Cynthia Cowan of Brinson, June Heard and her husband, Gene, of Bainbridge, and Lina Bradley of Dothan; her brother, Ike Smith of Chattanooga, Tenn.; her 11 grandchildren; and her 12 great-grandchildren.
Ivey Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
