Jennifer Oldaker has been named head coach of the Bainbridge High School Bearcats and Lady Cats cross country teams.
Oldaker had been an assistant to Coach Mandi O’Mara, who coached the Bearcats and Lady Cats for six successful seasons. Coach O’Mara, an avid runner herself, is moving out of town with her husband Brian.
Decatur County School System athletic director Stan Killough said Coach O’Mara did a great job and he is confident Coach Oldaker will step in and do the same.
“Coach Oldaker is a fine educator and a fine coach,” Killough said. “I am sure she will do a very good job.”
Last season the Bearcats finished third and the Lady Cats finished fourth in the strong eight-team Region 1-AAAA.
Mrs. Oldaker teaches sixth grade reading and social studies at Hutto Middle School.
