A memorial service for retired U.S. Air Force Col. Bobby E. Glisson, 64, of Jackson’s Gap, Ala., was held Monday, June 20, at First Baptist Church in Alexander City, Ala., with the Rev. Gerald Hallmark officiating.
Full military honors were provided by the U. S. Air Force.
Born and raised in Bainbridge, Ga., Col. Glisson died on June 17, 2011. He was an honors graduate of The University of Texas, Golden Gate University, Air Command and Staff College and Air War College. After a long and distinguished Air Force career, Col. Glisson retired as Wing Commander of Wright Patterson Air Force Base.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Levin and Ruby Glisson; and a brother, George Glisson.
He is survived by his wife, Diane Glisson; two daughters, Kimberly Brashears and her husband, Brett, of Montgomery, Ala., and Sandi Coulter and her husband, Chris, of Colorado Springs, Colo.; four grandchildren, Alex Brashears, J.C. Coulter, Sydney Brashears and Peyton Coulter. He was the “little brother” of William Glisson of Castroville, Texas, and James Glisson of Plano, Texas.

Radney Funeral Home in Alexander City, Ala., was in charge of the arrangements.
