The part of Bainbridge known as the Freewill community, roughly located between Alice Street near the Wal-Mart and S. West Street, was without power after Tuesday evening’s storm. Wind damaged utility poles near the intersection of Georgia 309 South and the U.S. 27 Bypass. Public Safety officers detoured traffic while Georgia Power and the Georgia Department of Transportation worked to fix the problem. Traffic lights near the intersection of College Road and Shotwell Street were also damaged in the storm. The Bainbridge Wal-Mart was temporarily closed during the power outage.
