Funeral services for Paul Gordon Sr., 68, of Bainbridge, Ga., were held on Saturday, June 4, at the Greater Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church with the Revs. Eric D. Collins and Willie G. Smiley officiating.

Interment followed at the Mount Nebo Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery with Charlie Emanuel, George Emanuel, Maurice Gaines, Andrew Jackson, Joseph Kendrick and Roscoe Walker serving as active pallbearers.

Born on Feb. 22, 1943, in Bainbridge to the late Rosebud and Willis Gordon, Mr. Gordon died on Sunday, May 29, 2011.

He was a truck driver for more than 30 years, employed at Goldkist and Southern Ag until his health began to fail. He was a member of Mount Nebo Missionary Baptish Church since an early age.

Mr. Gordon was preceded in death by two siblings, Flucher Wallace and Eva McDowell.

He is survived by his wife, Eva Mae S. Gordon of Bainbridge; nine children, Paul Gordon Jr., Paula Gordon, Randy Gordon, Calvin Kendrick, Lisa Busby and Yvonne Snell, all of Bainbridge, Anthony Gordon and his wife, Tracy, of Cairo, Sharon Freeman and her husband, Andrew, of Columbus, Ga., and Carl Snell; seven siblings, Author Gordon of Cairo, Willis Gordon Jr., Evonne Gordon, Lillian Gordon, Vivian Gordon, Dave Moses and Lawanda Blackmon, all of Bainbridge; 22 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Guyton Brothers Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
