Colquitt’s VFW Post 6406 is hosting a Flag Day celebration on Thursday, June 9, at 7 p.m. The Bainbridge High School Air Force Junior ROTC cadets will lead the ceremony with the retiring of the Colors followed by the proper disposal of the American flag. The purpose of this ceremony is to promote American heritage and provide a community service by honorably disposing of worn U.S. flags. Worn U.S. flags should be burned or buried with honor and dignity. Anyone in the community with an American flag that needs to be disposed should bring their flag to the VFW Post at 716 Brinson Road in Colquitt and join us in the ceremony.
