Young Foundation opening offices

A ribbon cutting will take place Thursday, June 9, at 3 p.m. for the Teresa Diane Young Foundation, a new non-profit organization with offices at 113 N. West St. on the square
Founder is Teresa Diane Young Chason, who formerly worked with the YMCA in the Gibbs-Miles after school program and taught parenting classes. She later worked for the Bainbridge Housing Authority as the resident service coordinator.
The foundation board of directors include, in addition to Chason, Tommy Willis and Kim Carroll.
Listed goals of the foundation are the following: To advocate for children and families; to offer support systems for parents; to collaborate with government agencies, community organizations and non-profit organizations; to provide assistance to the under-priviledged and victims of child abuse, domestic violence and/or violent crimes; to sponsor or co-sponsor community and charitable events in an effort to raise funds to provide for community needs or community programs.
