Linton wins Memorial Day Night Race

Stanley Linton, a distance runner for the Wakulla, Fla. High School War Eagles, won Monday’s fifth annual Memorial  Day 5K Night Race in a time of 17:06.

Stephen Robbins of Cairo and Brookwood School in Thomasville was second in the run, held annually to benefit the Bainbridge High School Bearcats and Lady Cats cross country team, in a time of 17:41.

Taking third and fourth places were  Dewey Reynolds of Bainbridge in a time of 18:28 and  Jasen Fulghum of Tallahassee, Fla. in a time of 18:31.

Former Bainbridge High School Bearcats cross country and track runner Richie Hughes was fifth in a time of 19:11.

Bryan Orrdonez of Bainbridge was sixth in a time of 19:14.

Bainbridge’s Greg Waddell, who finished seventh overall in a time of 19:17, was the top master, over 40, runner with a time of 19:17.

Rounding out the top 10 were Phillip Wilbourn of Blakely in a time of 19:53, Caleb Harris of Bainbridge in a time of 20:32 and Javonte Ross of Bainbridge in a time of 21:28.

Paula O’Neill of Tallahassee, Fla. was the ladies winner in a time of 22:02. She was  12th overall.

Taking second in the ladies field was Cora Atkinson of Crawfordville, Fla. She was 16th overall in a time of 22:38.

Coming in third and fourth in the ladies field were Lilly Rockwell and Sarah Dugas of Tallahassee, Fla. Rockwell was 18th overall in a time of 23:04 and Dugas was 21st overall in a time of 23:37.

The top Decatur County ladies finisher was Julie Harris, who was fifth in the ladies field and 22nd overall in a time of 23:37.

Taking sixth in the ladies field and finishing 23rd overall on a time of 23:43 was Lori Westphal of Tallahassee, Fla.

Rounding out the top 10 finishers in the ladies field were Tara Strickland of Dixie, Ga. who was 26th overall in a time of  25:07, Raychel Gray of Tallahassee, Fla., who was 27th overall in a time of 25:09, Gina Crowley of Dothan, Ala., who was 29th overall in a time of 25:37 and Jessica Miranda of Bainbridge, who was 32nd overall in a time of 26:08.
