Funeral services for Shirley Ann Love, 73, of Washington, D.C., were held Saturday, May 28, at Nelson Chapel AME Church with the Rev. James A. Platt officiating.

Interment was in Pineview Cemetery with family and friends acting as pallbearers.

Miss Love was born June 19, 1937, in Bainbridge, the daughter of the late Augustus and Alice Campbell Love. She died May 19, 2911, in Washington, D.C.

She graduated from Hutto High School in 1955 and continued her education at Morris Brown College in Atlanta. She served as a teacher’s aide in the Decatur County School System before moving to Washington, D.C., where she became the owner and president of L & N Transpiration Services Inc. in Mount Rainier, Md. In 2010 she was honored as the top minority business entrepreneur of the Mid-Atlantic region. For several years she was an active member of the renowned Cathedral Choir of Metropolitan A.M.E. Church.

She is survived by a host of friends and family members.

Bruton Mortuary was in charge of the arrangements.
