The Decatur County Board of Education requires that all students attend the school in the zone in which they reside unless they are in a specialized program that contains students across school zones.

Any exceptions to this policy must be made through the “School Choice Plan.”

If your child will be in grades K-4 during the 2011-2012 school year and you desire to apply for a school out of your zone using the “School Choice Plan,” you will need to complete an application during the week of June 20-24.

Applications may be obtained at the Decatur County Board of Education, 100 West St., between the hours of 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.

Applications will be available and accepted only during the week of June 20-24.
