Faceville team wins fishing tourney

The Faceville team of Nic Jeter and Paul Tyre pulled in a five-fish limit weighing 25.65 pounds Sunday on Lake Seminole to top a 36 two team boat field and win the $2,000 first prize in the 40th annual Bainbridge Bass Club Memorial Day Weekend Bass Tournament.

Jeter and Tyre reported catching their fish up Spring Creek and in the main part of Lake Seminole using Carolina rigging on crank baits.

The Panama City, Fla., team of Patrick Garner and Jerry Buschee caught the tournament lunker. It weighed 6.49 pounds and earned them a check for $370. They reported catching the fish up the Chattahochee River around noon on a frog.

Taking second place and earning a check for $1,000 with a five-fish limit catch of 21.29 pounds was the team of Matt Baty of Attapulgus and Chris Blackmon of Colquitt.

The Tallahassee, Fla. team of Rob Lawhon and Ron Collier took third place and a check for $550 with a five fish limit 21.17 pound catch.

Taking fourth place was the team of Bryan Thurman of Chipley, Fla. and Gerald Zorn of Ashburn. Their five-fish limit weighed 20.94 pounds and they earned a check for $330.

Rounding out the money winners in fifth place was the team of Brad Hambrick and Clark Bass of Albany.

Their five-fish limit weighed 20.53 pounds and they earned a check for $170.
