A graveside funeral service for Mr. Bill Rosenbury, 88, of Bainbridge, was held Monday, May 30, at Sylvania Cemetery with the Rev. Randy Mosley officiating.
Born Jan. 20, 1923, in Oden, Ind., Mr. Rosenbury died on Friday, May 27, 2011, in Plantation Manor in Thomasville, Ga.
Mr. Rosenbury was the son of Wertzel Vern Rosenbury and Josephine Barker Rosenbury. He was a retired salesman for an agricultural storage equipment company and a member of First United Methodist Church in Bainbridge.
He met his wife in high school and they enjoyed traveling extensively. He enjoyed his work with dairy cattle and fishing. He was a commercial fisherman and fishing guide, and loved to read about history and politics. He was the first fire chief of the Recovery Volunteer Fire Department.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Branaman Rosenbury.
Survivors include his sons, William Mark Rosenbury and his wife, Janet, of Des Moines, Iowa, George Timothy Rosenbury and his wife, Genie, of Springfield, Mo., and Robert T. Rosenbury and his wife, Pam, of Thomasville, Ga.; his daughters, Mary Jo Pritchett and her husband, Ed, of DeLand, Fla., Beth Shoenberger and her husband, Clark, of Fernandina Beach, Fla., Sue Elam and her husband, Sandy, of Corinth, Miss., and Nancy Young and her husband, Mike, of Robinsonville, Miss.; 13 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Ivey Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
