Atlas Educational LLC is holding its summer camp for children that started May 23 and continues into August.

ATLAS stands for “Adventures Through Learning and Service.” It’s run by Greg McDonald, former continuing education director at Bainbridge College, who ran a similar program through the college in years past.

These days, McDonald and his staff hold fun, educational activities for children at 908 S. Scott St., with First Christian Church of Bainbridge as their host. This summer, longtime, well-liked camp instructor Marva Hay is returning to teach.

Each week of the ATLAS summer camp has a different, creative theme. Some of this year’s themes include “African Exploration,” “Amazing Oceans,” “Seven Wonders of the World” and “Rainforests.”

Camp takes place each day from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Early drop-off (as early as 7 a.m.) and late pickup (until 6 p.m.) are available at no extra charge. Children can attend one week of camp, multiple weeks or all 11 weeks. McDonald encourages parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles and others to enroll their children in a week of ATLAS camp during their summer vacation.

The cost to register each child is $95 for each five-day week, with a discount for two weeks that will only have four days of activities. Checks should be made out to ATLAS Educational Services LLC. Its office address is 1047 Lake Douglas Road, Bainbridge, GA 39819.
