Memorial Day closings

City of Bainbridge offices will be closed on Monday, May 30, in observance of Memorial Day. Offices will reopen on Tuesday, May 31, with normal operating hours.

Due to the holiday, the city’s garbage collection schedule will be pushed back a day. Those residences who regularly scheduled for Monday will have their garbage collected on Tuesday, May 31, while those regularly scheduled for Tuesday will have theirs picked up on Wednesday, June 1.

All non-emergency Decatur County government offices will be closed Memorial Day. The county landfill off U.S. 27 South near Attapulgus will be open on Memorial Day from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The landfill’s phone number is (229) 465-3188.

All locations of the Southwest Georgia Regional Library System will be closed on Monday, May 30, in honor of Memorial Day. Each library location will re-open during regular business hours on Tuesday, May 31. Books can still be returned when the library is closed by using the book drop. Many library resources are available online by visiting www.swgrl.org.

State and federal government offices will also be closed on Monday, May 30. The U.S. Postal Service and local banks will also be observing the holiday.
