County Commissioners to meet

The Decatur County Board of Commissioners will meet Tuesday, May 24, at the County Administration Building, 203 W. Broughton St.

At 6:30 p.m., they will hold a public hearing on the proposed closure of Frank Brown Road in southwestern Decatur County.

Commissioners will hold their regular meeting at 7 p.m. with the following agenda:

• Special presentations: Steve Harbin, “Findings of Soil Testing of Proposed Landfill Acquisition”;

• Consider amendment to the purchasing policy;

• Update on EPA consent order;

• Consider amendment to the Alcoholic Beverage Ordinance;

• Consider approval of Supplemental Sidetrack Agreement;

• Consider approval of renewal of existing contract with Johnson Controls;

• Consider amendment to the Decatur County Human Resources Standards of Practice to add safety seatbelt policy;

• Consider approval of resolution to close a portion of Frank Brown Road;

• Executive session, litigation.
