The funeral service for Doris Eidson Joiner, 82, of Bainbridge, Ga., will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, May 17, at Ivey Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Ramon Duvall officiating.

Interment will be at Mount Pleasant Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at Ivey Funeral Home.

Mrs. Joiner was born June 27, 1928, in Decatur County, the daughter of Landers Guy Eidson and Mamie Elouise Burnum Eidson. She died Saturday, May 14, 2011, at Memorial Hospital.

She was a graduate of Pelham High School, Class of 1947, and was a member of Union Grove Baptist Church. She was a case worker for the Department of Family and Children Services for many years.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Ross Elouise Joiner, and her sister, Joan Dean.

Survivors include her husband, Marvin Watson “Junior” Joiner of Bainbridge; her brothers, Bobby Vance Eidson and his wife, Jeanette, of Cairo, and Landers Guy Eidson, Jr. and his wife, Olga, of Faceville, Ga.; her sister, Jan Eidson Mason and her husband, James, of Colquitt; and a host of nieces and nephews.
