Funeral arrangements for James B. “Jimmy” Ward Jr., 82, of Bainbridge, Ga., are pending and will be announced by Ivey Funeral Home.

Born Feb. 19, 1929, in Jakin, Ga., Mr. Ward died on Tuesday, May 10, 2011, at his residence.

Mr. Ward was the son of James Blackmon Ward and Annie Richardson. He was a graduate of Seminole County High School, Class of 1947. Mr. Ward served in the U.S. Navy and was a technician with the City of Bainbridge waste water treatment plant for many years.

Mr. Ward was preceded in death by his son, Perry J. Ward, and his brother, Archie Ward.

Survivors include his wife, Betty Clark Ward of Bainbridge; his son, Stacy B. Ward of Bainbridge; his daughter, Wanda W. Cannon and her husband, Wayne, of Bainbridge; his sisters, Joann Williams and Mary Ekmma Hooks, both of Donalsonville, Ga., and Glenda Nordham, of Dacula, Ga.; his brother, Tommy Ward of Bainbridge; his grandchildren, Keri Cannon Rowe, Kelli Cannon Mobley, Alana Brooke Ward, Preston Portivent and Collin B. Ward; his great-grandchildren, Griffin Rowe, Bryce Rowe and Cole Rowe.
