Funeral services for Alton Lewis Parker, 79, of Bainbridge, will be Friday, May 13, at 4 p.m. in the chapel of Colquitt Funeral Home in Colquitt, Ga., with Evangelist Greg Parker officiating.
Interment will follow at Cooks Cemetery in Miller County. Visitation will be Thursday, May 12, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Colquitt Funeral Home.
Born Nov. 15, 1931, in Colquitt, Ga., Mr. Parker died Tuesday, May 10, 2011, at Memorial Manor Nursing Home in Bainbridge.
Mr. Parker was retired from American Electric Light Company in Bainbridge. He was a member of Hardaway Assembly of God Church in Gretna, Fla.
Survivors include his wife, Minnie Lee Parker of Bainbridge; two sons, Greg Parker of Bainbridge and Ricky Parker of Colquitt; four stepsons, Ricky McCall, Melvin McCall and Gene McCall, all of Bainbridge, and Thad McCall of Florida; two sisters, Shirley Neely of Chattahoochee, Fla., and Wanda Harrison of Bainbridge; his stepmother, Mary Alma Glass of Athens, Tenn.; two brothers, Bobby Parker of Tennessee and Oscar B. Parker of Bushnell, Fla.; one sister, Janice Johnson of Athens, Tenn.; 15 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, 12 step-grandchildren, and 14 step-great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Colquitt Funeral Home in Colquitt, Ga., is in charge of arrangements.
