Three people died after being shot outside a convenience store in Seminole County on Saturday afternoon.

The shootings happened at approximately 5:30 p.m. Saturday at the Iron City Convenience Store, located at 111 S. Church St. in Iron City. The small town is located about five miles southeast of Donalsonville along U.S. 84.

The three victims of the shootings were identified as Roger Scott Jr., 29, of Iron City, Ga.; Christy Deann Scott, 27, of Iron City, and Stacy Marie Dismuke, 35, of Iron City.

William Larry Easterwood, 59, of Iron City, was arrested soon after the shootings and charged with three counts of murder, according to the Seminole County Jail.

Seminole County Sheriff Heath Elliott told WALB-TV that Easterwood pulled into the store’s parking lot, blocked off the car the Scotts and Dismuke were in and began shooting inside the car. The Scotts’ young daughter was also in the car but was unharmed.

The Decatur County Sheriff’s Office Dive Team was requested to help look for the gun used in the shootings, reportedly a .22-caliber rifle, according to Capt. Gale Bowyer. Bowyer said members of the dive team searched under the Spring Creek bridge off U.S. 84 on Saturday but were unable to find a gun.

Sheriff Elliott told The Associated Press that Easterwood and Dismuke had been living together in the recent past but were estranged. Dismuke had recently moved in with the Scotts and they were ongoing domestic problems between she and Easterwood, Elliott said.

The Post-Searchlight attempted to contact Sheriff Elliott directly but voicemails left for him on Monday and Tuesday had not been returned by press time.

According to the Federal Bureau of Prisons, Easterwood had been released from a federal prison on May 18, 2010. The Bureau of Prisons’ database did not specify the crime Easterwood was sentenced for or the length of his sentence.
