A funeral service for Collie “Buddy” Callaway Jr., 57, of Bainbridge, was held Friday, May 6, at Young Memorial Chapel at Bruton Mortuary with the Rev. Cleveland Sanders officiating.

Interment followed in Jonas Lobe Cemetery in Bainbridge with friends of the family serving as active pallbearers.

Born Oct. 8, 1953, in Bainbridge, Mr. Callaway died on May 2, 2011, at his daughter’s residence.

Mr. Callaway was the son of the late Eddie Mae Callaway and the Collie Callaway Sr.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Mack Callaway Sr. of Fort Myers, Fla.

Survivors include two sons, Collie Callaway III of Bainbridge and Boris Callaway of Belleville, Ill.; three daughters, Lisa Callaway, Jill Callaway and Debra Mills; a sister, Callie Mae Smith; three brothers, Willie Callaway of Bainbridge, Gene Kimble of Miller County, Ga., Lonnie Callaway of Palm Beach, Fla.; two aunts, 16 grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, a very special friend and his devoted nephew, Scotty Callaway.

Bruton Mortuary was in charge of arrangements.
