Graveside services for Herman Edward Langford Sr., 78, of Donalsonville, Ga., were held Thursday, May 5, at Friendship Cemetery in Donalsonville with the Rev. Herman Enfinger officiating.
Mr. Langford was born in Philadelphia, Pa., on Oct. 29, 1932. He died Tuesday, May 3, 2011, at his home. He served his country as a paratrooper in the U.S. Army Ranger Special Forces Unit. He was a truck driver and a member of Jakin Baptist Church.
Mr. Langford leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Sondra DuPriest Langford of Donalsonville; a son, Herman E. Langford Jr. and his wife, Joyce, of Leesburg; a daughter, Lenore Dixon and her fiance, David Keller, of Albany, Ga.; three grandchildren, Victoria Hill and her husband, Jason, Stacy Thompson, and Stephanie Green; three great-grandchildren, Elijah Hill, Gavin Thompson and Lily Thompson; and his special children (nieces and nephews) Melissa R. Baxley, Alicia D. Grant, Adria D. DuPriest, Roscoe S. DuPriest Jr., and Mary Elizabeth DuPriest.
