Graveside funeral services for Betty J. Ingram, 74, of Bainbridge, Ga., will be Friday, May 6 at 11 a.m., at Greenwood Cemetery in Cairo, Ga., with Dr. Gwynn Hayes officiating.

The family is gathering at 3110 Fred Collins Road in Whigham, Ga. Friends are welcome to come by and pay their respects.

Born March 4, 1937, Mrs. Ingram died on Wednesday, May 4, 2011, at Bainbridge Healthcare in Bainbridge, Ga.

Mrs. Ingram was the daughter of David King and Bessie Joiner Matthews. She was raised in Thomas County, Ga. She married Willie Bob Ingram, who precedes her in death. Early in their marriage, she and her husband moved to Grady County. Mrs. Ingram worked in the laboratory of Roddenberry Foods for 32 years. She loved flowers and her lawn. Betty was a wonderful homemaker. It was a pleasure for her to put up fresh vegetables and cook for her family. One of her most beloved pastimes was fishing. Whether it was a local creek or at St. George’s Island, just let her fish. Mrs. Ingram will be dearly missed by her dog, Missy.

Survivors include her children, Audie Keith Ingram of Whigham, Ga., and Vangie Sue Drew and her husband, Marty, of Cairo, Ga.; sisters: Barbara Miller and husband, Bob, of Albany, Ga., Marjorie Matthews of Cairo and Marilyn Long of Boston, Ga.; her grandson, William Ray Pearce and his wife, Lindsay, and a great-grandchild, Jolee Rae Pearce, all of Cairo.
