Funeral services for Raymond C. King, 83, of Bainbridge, Ga., were held on Tuesday, April 26, at Ivey Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Jimmy Walden and Fletcher Sheffield officiating.
Interment followed at Oak City Cemetery with Jim McCann, Danny VunCannon, Jim Miller, James Jordan and Byron Griffis serving as active pallbearers.
Mr. King was born May 14, 1927, in Bainbridge, the son of Jesse Glen King and Ethel Lee Lynn King. He died Saturday, April 23, 2011, at his residence.
He served in the U.S. Army and was a retired truck driver. He was a member of Unity Church of God in Iron City, Ga., and served many years as a volunteer for Disabled American Veterans.
He was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.
Survivors include his daughters, Vickie Andrews and her husband, Mike, of Bainbridge, and Rosa Phillips and her husband, Jimmy, of Colquitt; his brother, Allen King of Reynoldsville, Ga.; his sisters, Edith King of Reynoldsville and Onez Lee of Bainbridge; and his grandchildren, Derrick Cook, Joshua Cook, Laura Leigh Andrews, Megan Phillips and Kayln Phillips.
Ivey Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
