Funeral services for Mary Hilda Logue Carr, 91, of Thomasville, Ga., will be Saturday, April 23, at Heritage Funeral Home Chapel in Cairo, Ga., beginning at 2 p.m. with Mr. Damon Edwards officiating.

Interment will be in the Pine Level Baptist Church Cemetery with grandsons, Glen Cannon, Steve Finney, Harris Barrow, Michael Barrow, Scott Barrow, David Finney, Chriss Sallings Jr., Frank Sallings and Matt Carr acting as pallbearers. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Saturday.

Mrs. Carr was born Aug. 11, 1919, in Grady County, Ga., and died Wednesday, April 20, 2011, at Archbold Memorial Hospital in Thomasville. She was a seamstress who made clothes for her family and for the public. She worked many years for Watson-Scott Company. She was a gifted quilter, who loved to cook for her family and anyone else she could feed. She was a member of the First Christian Church of Bainbridge, where she lived before moving to Thomasville. She was active in the women’s ministries there.

Mrs. Carr was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis Lamar Carr; her parents Marvin and Jessie Mills Logue; a daughter, Wilma Cannon; brothers, Afton Logue and Ben Logue; and grandchildren, James Adrian Cannon and Teresa Barrow.

Survivors include her children, Arnold Finney and his wife, Myrna, of Faceville, Ga., Linda Barrow of Pavo, Ga., Jimmy Finney and his wife, Lottie, of Rome, Ga., Darlene Sallings and her husband, Chriss, of Newport News, Va., and Bill Carr and his wife, Robin, of Gulf Port, Miss.; sisters, Ella Johnson of Cairo and Martha Green and husband, R.H. Green Jr. of Thomasville; a brother, Dalvin Logue and his wife, Molly, of Bainbridge; 13 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Heritage Funeral Home of Cairo is in charge of the arrangements.
